Julia Hogan is a licensed massage therapist/registered nurse. Specializing in deep tissue-trigger point, NMT, Ashi oriental bar and myofascial techniques.
Julia has been a registered nurse for 33yrs. A graduate of Mercy, she has worked in the following areas: Neonatal ICU in a regional center at Spectrum, Assistant Director of Nursing in Denver Colorado of 120 bed rehabilitation unit, Orthopedic, ICU, ER, Physician Office and 15 yrs as a Hospice nurse case manager. Prior to nursing she was an EMT.
Julia saw the benefits of modern medicine but also what she believed was lacking or at least undervalued, and that was personal holistic care. She noticed, first hand, when she was with frightened hospice patients, that through touch, music, aromatherapy, active listening, and honoring a sacred healing space many experienced ease of anxiety and pain. Julia enrolled in Flint Institute of Therapeutic Massage and graduated in 2009, seeking to add another tool for comfort.
"Many of us run too fast. We may have trained for success by over working and ignoring vital messages from our bodies, emotions and or spirit, while our brains run overtime. So how do we learn to hear the message of the body? By being still will you know..."
"Massage besides obvious physical benefits augments our wellbeing and assists us to come home to our body."
Julia's massage is a space of grace and a place of wholeness and healing.
